I also got the Colonial One as a review kit from IPMS/USA.  My biggest beef is the price for the size of the finished model.  Still, neat ship and I will be doing Colonial Heavy 798.

I can't remember where I read the review on it, but apparently there are a lot of fiddly bits that *weren't* on the filming model.

How on Earth can that happen? The space effects in BSG were done in CGI and when that's the case, the film company usually just send the model company the CAD file, so there's no issue of getting the research right or differences between one filming model and another.  :unsure:

Both kits look just fine to me.  But then, I am too old to pay much attention.

If it looks like a viper then thats OK, the CGI ones and lifesize props probably varied quite a bit especially over the life of the programme

I still reckon they should do a Dogfight Double of the 1/72nd Viper and Cylon kits.

That would make perfect sense.

Another thing they could do is a 1/4105th Cylon Base Star and issue that in Dogfight Doubles with the Galactica or Pegasus. Heavily battle-damaged versions of both would make an awesome display of this scene:

Moebius have got a license to do kits from 2001 A Space odyssey, first things planned are reissues of their Moonbus and a corrected version of their Pan Am Orion Shuttle (somethings wrong with wings the apparently).

He certainly would.............  ;D :lol:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I'd love to see 'em release a bunch of Space Odyssey 2001 figures in 1/72nd scale.  Those would be all kinda useful for all kinda modelling!

Moebius announced that they have got a license for kits from the new Star Trek movies at San Diego's Comic Con. They haven't said what they'll be doing but I assume one will be the oddly proportioned JJ 'prise. The only ship I liked was the Shuttle.

Moebius announced at the recent Wondercon that they've got the license from Warner for 2001: A Space Odyssey.  Final prototype for the 1/144th scale Discovery (:o) and chat here.
