Done. I dont know if you have to have administrative rights to delete. At least i have.

How about the originators post articles about our "shared worlds" like the Patchwork World, Northwest Republic, and the Communist Europe threads? Then the contributors could add sub-articles about their contributions.

I love JoeP's Patchwork World idea -- and have material in the works.

But has anyone else had trouble with the edit function on the wiki?

When I try, the edit page comes up but then just keeping loading endlessly with no chance to make any entries. Tips? Tricks?

Try the update button. That works for me.

Thanks B787. I assume you mean the "update button" on the browser -- I didn't see one on the wikia page. Alas, same results and update just starts the same loading process all over again.

Could this be a Firefox issue? Win98? Faulty wetware at the user end ... ?

Nope, works perfectly in Firefox for me. The faults come when i use IE.

Just an idea, could we do an article on the history of the What If site itself?  I know it has had a few incarnations but I don't know all the history behind it.  How and why SuperTom and JoeIsAMonkey started it and how it progressed?

I did not see a link back to the actual What If site on the Wikia page but did I simply miss it?

Sounds like a good idea, somebody do it! :)

The Whiffiepedia page looks very sharp, Thomas! I was rather chuffed to see my old Baguette in the group of rotating images.

That was my fault actually herr Von Bash; I thought we needed some eye candy on the front page, so I went through the Whiffies winners and put together the little animated gif. I might have to redo it, it's over 2 meg so slows things down a lot.

I've been adding more stuff to the Whifipedia and it's looking kinda empty. We've had some great suggestions in this thread (of which I do not have the information to expand upon and write articles for), and it'd be great to see some of it go up. At present, it's a sort of glossary with some extra information. It'd be nice to turn it into the standard reference on anything which has become 'established'; like fictional countries. It's much easier to read through a Whifipedia article than scrabble and rummage through eithty-four pages of posts to get the complete history.

I have been adding a page or two every day
Slowly adding air forces and aircraft types

Thanks for this new reference collection of pages, dear B787.
Apart of nice models like here, one thing interested me much: the replacement in JMN of Nazi by 'Numpty'.
I disliked a lot the other way, like if the Nazi had not done worse than severe modellers...
Alas I have a problem understanding this word "numpty", BabelFish free translator cannot convert it into my French and it is even absent from my Oxford English-English dictionary... Slang? Meaning what precisely?
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

numpty is english slang for idiot, moron, baffoon, prat etc.  Its less harsh than some other words I could think of.

Thanks Nev, while... uh, don't the JMNs judge we are the numpty modellers? ;D

Haha, but we aren't joyless

I'm starting to build up the 'Aircraft of the Royal Alternative Air Force' page starting with my own stuff and then I'm going to add other 'types' from the forum.  My only self-imposed 'rules' are that they are What If? RAF only and that the page should be laid out like Owen Thetford's book (which is the inspiration), that is alphabetically by manufacturer and then chronologically by type.  Do feel free to add your own material if you wish. ;D ;D
