Because curves are pretty!

Kinda based on vague memories of the Martin Mariner.

...or perhaps with less crazy swoop to the wings!

Fantastic for use by Team Z !!!!

One almost would expect Sean Connery to step off this machine as Alan Qatermain in another rendition of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Wild stuff!!!

The marketers for the new Moustache Seaplane were appalled to learn their new ad slogan, 'Ride the Moustache!' had an alternate connotation.

Cool, is this going to be built in plastic, then?
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

John, I seem to be a committed virtual modeler.

I built it real quick tonight -- I barely looked at my drawings, and did not use them as templates, so there are differences.

kitflubber

better renders... there are problems -- body too thin behind wing.

In this last one, you can the the Perilous Sky Sphincter at bottom.

Love the fluke like tail !!!!  Beautiful work !

kitflubber

Thank you Greg!

I have stayed up late refining it -- enlarged the 'fluke,' shortened and thickened the tail boom a bit. Also improved the geometry on the jet exhaust. I am stealing this from eighties era work on STOL jet transports.

By the way the faceting in the image will go way with higher quality setting on render -- just saving time. It's funny, the basic geometry of those jet engine pods is square!

So here it is without the 'Subdivision' algorithm applied:

Mindblowing to a guy (like me) who is still trying to figure out 2D graphics!

So, I need to invent a paint scheme for this one: Russian military? Canadian firebomber? Tourist shuttle? James Bond villain? Team America?

Thoughts?

Daryl J.

Gloss Sea Blue/White with yellow cheat lines?

GTX

It's almost a variant of the Custer Channelwing.

Greg
All hail the God of Frustration!!!

Hi KitF!  ;D
Nice curvy shape of the wings and T-tail!
I vote for Canadian firebomber paint scheme.

'Subdivision' algorithm is almost like painless PSR session (without groan, bitch and whine :banghead:).
Every sharp edge of the basic shape is 'sanded' by the algorithm and the process can be repeated until the shape is smoothed!  ;D

The most popular is the Catmull–Clark algorithm.
