Bubble top canopy?

Can someone tell me where to get more info about the Bubble top canopy Hurricane? Looks like a great plane. I'm really interested in 3 views in order to being able to add into flight sims

I'm honoured that you'd want to add my Hurricane to a flight sim!

You might be able to construct your own three views of it. The conversion in plastic wasn't too difficult so I don't imagine it would be difficult to splice some drawings together. You need a Hurricane IIb, a Yakovlev Yak-7 and the canopy of a Hawker Tempest.

These construction photos show where Hurricane (grey styrene) stops and Yak-7 (cream styrene) begins. It also gives you an idea of how far back I moved the cockpit in the conversion:

This was the initial cutting and splicing stage. I opted to used the entire cockpit area of the Yak-7 and cut the Hurricane almost exactly where the front edge of the windscreen joins the fuselage. As you can see, with the exception of the immediate area around the cockpit, it's pure unaltered Hurricane from just aft of the wing trailing edge forward. The vertical and Horizontal tail surfaces also stayed Hurricane.


Here you can see that the Yak fuselage needed to be widened a bit on the underside to match the Hurricane in that area.


Here is a better view showing how the cockpit was relocated in the conversion. as I recall, the front edge of the windscreen moved back about half an inch or so.

There was an "Improved" canopy project, intended for intruder operations, but development was abandoned in March 1942.

Not quite a bubble canopy but a slightly cut down rear fusalage with a canopy rather like the ones in Greg's plans but with a slight Spitfire look to it.
