Currently the F-818 is in stand by: I have found a replacement for the broken front windshield and it's now installed.

Will install the main undercarriage because the Mongram's Crusader need this operation done before of to paint the fuselage.

At the 90% I will paint the F-818 using as inspiration the F-16N illustrated here:

NEWS:

This is the work done this week:

Changed partially the camouflage: will be inspired to that of the Marines F-16N as in the upper image but instead of the light gray I have opted for a ISRAELI LIGHT SAND.

So, Two hands of Gunze Israeli sand have been applied to the model.

I have spent around 12 hours of the my last two afternoons applying the Tamiya tape at the purpose of to pull out the zones that will be painted in Dark Green (or maybe I will use another tint, will see).

To have an idea of how to apply the camouflage I do used the enlarged drawings printed on the Two Bobs sheet for the 1/48 F-16N.

Tomorrow the last part of the paint process.

F/A 818 update:

Yesterday sprayed on the kit the final layer of Dark Green over the Sand base.

Today removed the tamiya tape and this is the result:

That looks absolutely stunning :o
The aircraft itself is a stunning piece of aviation art, but that colour scheme is amazing.

Believe me: I have had the fear of to become crazy replicating this camo but instead it was more easy to do and more better in result if compared with the Digital Camo applied by me to the my YA-7X ( http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php?topic=21674.30 )

Love that camo... that's a real wicked combination there, nice contrasting.
