The Mordheim ruins are great!  The destroyed statue stachoo ( ;D ) is a neat touch.
Cheers,

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Always good stuff Owen.

However, while Grot is great and all, just wondering what would it be like if you had someone like Fritzi hanging out there?
Maybe that Lady Harliquin you mentioned in the Whiffies.

I didn't draw the lady harlequin, It was the result of a google search.
And I don't draw cheesecake; I'm not yet that good with illustraitor.

I knew you didn't draw her, just meant you could give Grot a sidekick or guest speaker.

And, she gives you a reason to improve those skills.  But keep the models coming.

I've just realised that TFH will be celebrating it's first bithday next month, so it seemed only right to have a celebration. So I've decided to run a reader's photo competition for terrain made using tutorials from TFH, or techniques taken from them anyways. There will be a prize of spectacular spectacularity.

It was either that or Grot bursting out of a cake in his undies. And we don't want that, so support the compo! Tell your freinds! Tell your relations! Tell your goldfish!

It is important to note that not only is the Berfenday Compomotetition still open for entries, but TFH has been updated tonight. Twice.

Nice one - got loads of cardboard tubes too: just a pity I don't need any African huts!

Everyone needs african huts. They go so well with hippos. And if you send pics of them you could win the berfenday compometition.

BTW, the smaller huts are actually made from PVC pipe, but cardboard works just as well.

Hey PW  - what sizes and thicknesses of balsa do you find most useful? The reason I ask is that there's a UK ebay seller who's prices are good (I think) but they only do very large packs, so I don't want 100 pcs of the wrong thickness...

Errr... I go by eye mostly.
Um... about 3mm or 4mm, certainly no more than 5mm, but it depends a little on what it's for. Mostly I just stick it to other stuff, so it doen't need to be very strong, if it's structural I use thicker stuff.

The 5mm square section is damn good as well - you use a lot more than you would think!
A single house can use half a plank of balsa...

Cheers PW!

This guy does stuff down to 1mm, which would be good for turning plastic into planking I guess, but maybe a bit fragile on it's own.
