Why doesn't the Avro Arrow get much whif attention?

GINge!

I've been scrolling through the beautiful TSR.2 builds and wondering why it seems that the Avro Arrow hasn't generated the same degree of interest as the TSR?

There are kits in 72 and 48 of both aircraft, and one could argue that both airframes shared a comparable history. Sure there are extra whif decals for the TSR, but that can't be the only reason?

Is it just the relative newness of the TSR kits that has prompted this burst of creativity (maybe I missed it when the Arrow kits came out?).

Just curious

Aircraft Resource Center has a number of spurious Arrows.    The Arrow just simply doesn't seem to get as much attention as the TSR, period.
Frankly, I've wondered the same thing.   After rediscovering modeling some 15 years ago, the 1/72 Arrow was one of the very first kits I bought.

With the recent run of TSR-2 kits, the type is currently to the fore. In time i suspect the Arrow will get the coverage it deserves on here.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

It's simple, really...the Brits are proud of their Nations accomplishments and CDNs could care less !

I built a few Arrow whifs this year, check the 'finished' pages if you mised them.

I've been Thinking about Getting an Avro Arrow and Maybe doing a "Gerry Anderson" with it!!!!! what Say You,Captain??????

Think you'll find the main reason is the Arrow kit has been out for many years, and the Arrow was whiffed by many of the old guard in the early days of the forum.

They are out there, in fact there used to be a page on ARC featuring a slew of whiffed Arrows bult by Alvis Petrie and a friend of his. Damned if I can find it now.  :banghead:

I like the look of that Robert!

Done with your usual careful thought I'm sure. How far down your priority pile is it?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

LOL,  I've been doing it off and on for the last five or six years Kit, there's a couple of things I want to do for it but I've never done them before, one is make some resin bits (bought a mould making & resin kit for it some time ago) and the other is to make a vac canopy as the one I'm working with will be the master.  But I've made a decision to get on with some of these projects I've started and then let sit, so could be some time this year.

IMHO, the Arrow makes a great What if; here is the Hobbycraft in 1/72.

I say "the more Arrows the merrier !"  or "sounds like a plan, Stan ! " or how about the old classic " well, Clarke, are you gonna 'go for it ?'"

Because I can't afford one, if you have a 1/48 Arrow you'd like turned into a whiff and want to donate it lemme know :P

Keep dreaming!  The cost of postage to your doorstep is the real problem with this scheme ;^)
