See also the build-thread (which I will be updating with more in-progress pics & text):  http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,8242.msg109321.html#msg109321

Look at this old news article I found from the 1950's.  It's a bit yellowed with age but clean and crisp as the day it was printed (magic, ain't it?).

I began this one on Dec. 31, 2005.  Didn't even take four years to complete...pretty fast build (for me).   :banghead:

Brilliant.  Great concept, excellent modeling and the newspaper idea works great.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Thanks, guys.  The newspaper article was surprisingly hard to produce.  Here is a series of better images, some are the color versions of the b&w pics used in the pseudo "Wall Street Journal."

As the model is too heavy for the landing gear, I will mount it on a short piece of clear acrylic rod, a few scale feet above a blur-painted
runway as though it is just becoming airborne (or just coming in for a landing)

I'll be updating the whole build thread to show all the steps leading to final completion.  I had wanted to surprise you guys with
the final product before revealing too much about the basic concept during construction:  "What if the British had invented the A-10
instead of Fairchild in the USA?

Superb model and the newspaper presentation is excellent - a tour de force on all counts!

Personally inspiring to me too: I have both Meteor plans (none like this) and newspaper plans (not for the Meteors), so it's good to see inspiring examples of both.

Wow!!!  It still kind of looks like a meat box, then, well doesn't!  At first I'd thought you'd used parts almost entirely from the Meteor, but there's one ore two I can't put my finger on, how'd you go about it Baz?

EDIT, I see now, found the in progress thread!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
