if the German Bundesmarine has an aircraft carrier, i think a navalised version of the Dornier 228 would make a great carrier based AEW, COD and ASW plane  ;D

Nice idea!

On the same lines, how about an Islander COD for small RN CTOL carriers, or a Twotter COD for the RCAN? If there's a kit of it, the Aussies could use the GAF Nomad, and the Swiss could use the PC-6 Turbo-Por...ah, oops....

Dash 7 or Dash 8 for a COD as well. One of my dreams, often expressed on this site, is to get a kit of a Dash 7 and turn it into a flying boat. If I ever win a lottery I'll do it to a real one!

With a Turbo Porter or Caribou you probably wouldn't even need an aircraft carrier. Just tell the destroyer to turn into the wind and open the throttle, then drop your flaps and gently set your plane down on the helo deck! ;D

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Wouldn't even need to even open the throttle too much!

Navalise, could that include convertion of a cargo ship or cruise liner into a warship?

Heck, don't stop there. Revell recently re-issued its old Chris Craft cabin cruiser model, imagine that in battleship grey with a few .50 cals and depth charges on it!

Although I know that Sea Venom exists in the two-seat all-weather fighter configuration, I'd also figure that a navalized Venom single-seat fighterbomber would have looked awesome.
To the individual soldiers, *everything* is a frontal assault!

I was thinking the Revell Laser model. Possibly a GAU-17 in front of the mast...

MiG-28, 'nuff said!

Well it ain't a MiG-28 but it is close - I was only just thinking of a Carrier based F-20.

Navalize the F-100, if only to put it in VF-114 markings?  Too damn fitting I say.

Navalized Ki-61/100?  Ki-84?  Su-35? Su-34? MiG-31? J-10? A-10? F-2?

Just a few thoughts.

Wouldn't mind a navalized Curtiss Jenny with a bit more horsepower to handle the extra drag from the floats.

I suppose there might be/have been a use for a navalized Sherman Firefly turret on a shallow draft USS Monitor-like boat.

BAe Hawk/T-45 navalized and used on smaller aircraft carriers for patrolling the Strait of Hormuz and the Caribbean controlling pirates, drugs, gun running, and aiding in the distribution of rum.

i was also thinking of a newer T-45D Goshawk plus, based on the Hawk 128 frame

Sure, if you want to sink your Laser! the weight of the gun will put it under. I know as I've SAILED them in a former life - 30 Hours logged out of about 600 hours in my RYA log book!!
