It's my fav too, though in a pure day-fighter role.

Re NF, how's this (sorry, I don't do colour):

Initial version (rear guns removed since radar operator's total focus is radar) - note belly gunpack:



Later version where rear station removed altogether (radar operator moved forward in fuselage - not popular though due to difficulty of escape):



Note nose MGs removed to stop pilot being blinded

Is that a Griffon off a Firefly? That'd make it go a bit.....

Since the rear fuselage is so slim, how about using two of them to make a twin-boom version? (you could butcher TWO rare classic kits  ) That would also let you fit a recoilless BFG whose exhaust would be well clear of the rear fuselage, to the point where you could maybe use a counter-blast weapon, rhater than a counter-weight weapon.

I think you need to place the fins on the ends of the booms but just keep the little wing stubs on the outside and not have the tail plane with such a big span
