I don't think this is a Whiff but the paintwork is just too beautiful not to show - and it's better in the flesh.

That is gorgeous.  I think I would lose my mind doing that scheme

That paint!!!! :bow:

Dizzyfugu

Cool. And demonstrates what you can achieve with just three tones!  :thumbsup:

Lovely job isn't it? I reckon there's just ONE lot of masking there as well, plus some very precise freehand work.  :bow: :bow: :bow:

QuoteCool. And demonstrates what you can achieve with just three tones!  Thumbs Up

Up close, there's 4 tones, with a subtle use of brown almost submerged by the darker green.

I'll upload some more whiff pics from the Melbourne Model Expo later. I'll see if I can give a close up of the S.M.81's subtle airbrush effects.
Whatever.

Not a whiff, but more on that astonishing S.M.81

Look closely and you can see the subtle use of the brown:

Here's a colour profile source for the scheme:

and another attempt at the same scheme (really nice, but it misses that watermark effect on the Expo example):

And some info here:

Whatever.

NARSES2

Thanks for the extra photos Comrade  :thumbsup:

My personal favourite amongst all those goodies ? The Romania Me 110/Tu 2 merger. Had me scratching my head for sure but it looks so right  :thumbsup:
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Librarian

Just love the Savoia. The way they've squeezed in a little map of Italy booting Sicily in the bum ;D.

Old Wombat

I wont do another re-post of it but that S.M.81 is absolutely stunning! :o

This is another buzzbomb creation;

This is by uncle les (may be found at Beyond the Sprues), owner-creator of Uncle Les (resin kits);

Indeed, Old Wombat, uncle les has even more representation at that show, too.

The 1946 DAK, Bf 161/2, and Quad Tilt-Rotor are also his and have their own build threads at Beyond the Sprues.

I like the Miles M52 derivative but I can't work out what kit(s?) he used:

The Wooksta!

Spitfire wings and certainly a Hunter canopy.  It's also a hybrid - can't see the intakes but I presume they're under the wings and the rocket exhaust is below the jetpipe.

SR 53 fuselage with the 'hump' removed?

The fuselage looks like a Bell X-1A, Special Hobby does a 1/72 kit of it. Even the canopy comes from the kit I think
