That is awful close to my JagdSherman idea.
I still hung up on a gun mantlet for the 90mm though.

The JagdCromwell is very nicely built! Cool idea!

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

the JagdCromwell is very nice but rather unrealistic... as if the Brits during WWII would have designed a tank destroyer with a 17 pounder sticking out the front(!) and a well sloped glacis & side armour...  :o  :tank:

Quite right Mikey!  We didn't win this great Empire of ours by building SPGs with the gun pointing forwards!

Having said that, it is an excellent model :)

That's right. You made them point backwards and not be so well armored.

I think my JagdSherman designed to operate in the Bocage after D-Day would have been a great idea.

No, instead the Brits built a tank destroyer powered by a Napier Sabre and armed with cannon, rockets and bombs.  ;D
Far more effective than any jagdthingy.

The US principle of putting an effective anti-tank weapon in a rotatable turret proved to be the superior all-round solution.
The jagd layout is great for defensive weapons in fixed ambush conditions, not so hot on the offensive in fluid and mobile combat.

But even that displayed the finest principles of British engineering with an engine that liked to suddenly cut out and a tail that fell off without warning....
