That's a VERY strange colour scheme.......  :unsure:

Indeed. It's not so much the fuselage being different from the wings (I think I've seen this before on other Luftwaffe aircraft) but the fact that the wings present two completely different schemes. As the modelist says he sold the model and can't therefore improve on it, maybe we can conclude that it was still a work in progress?

Could it represent an aircraft with a replacement wing? We've all seen aircraft with 'clashing' coloured/camouflaged panels / rudders and rear fuselages etc. Unfortunately apart from the reference to a Ju88 (i think that was it?) we have no history of the paint scheme
Oh to be whiffing again :-(

That was my first thought
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Actually, I think he was talking about getting better photo's, there.

Regarding the scheme I found;

Dumaniac, I think you'll find that there are quite a few builders who used AIMS after-market detailing kits on their builds as it is the AIMS website gallery
(& they give details of the products used for each build).

:cheers:

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

OMIGOD. I was actually planning to build my Airfix Rotodyne in U.S. colors, but it will be hard to top that one!  :bow: :bow: :bow: :bow:

Technically however it should be a Kaman Rotodyne, since Fairey had struck a deal with Kaman for building and marketing the aircraft in the U.S...

Nice build on the 1099. For a second, I was looking for the SN-2 antlers when I see that the centimeter wavelengths had caught up with the luftwaffe.

Trying to remember the book it was in but, I remember a Hermann Goering quote about his opinion of radar- "Radar consists of little boxes filled with coils. I hate little boxes full of coils!"

The 1099 nachtjager placement of the RO under a flat transparency looked like all he could observe was maybe the moon, if it were up.
