Why 2019? I would have thought that 2018 was a more auspicious date, first of April specifically!

Gondor

Because 2019 will be the 75th anniversary of the D-Day invasions, probably the original Typhoons finest hour when they formed the 'cab ranks' over the beach-head to take out any Tigers and other tanks that were foolish enough to get in the way of their 3" rockets...........  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Cool. The combo looks promising - I'd just rather move the canards into a more forward position?

Oi, i's got 2 engin's, guv! :o

I would think that is because the rear and centre fuselage, and the wings, look like they are from an F-5E.

Very nice indeed!  Gonna look great once it's been painted!

But Tiger wings? Probably the only option to actually REDUCE wing area.

I wonder if its a 1/48th Starfighter and a 1/32nd Freedom Fighter. Looks great to me! Leaves a lot of paint and decal options.

Funnily enough I was making that very comparison with kit bits the other day: the Tiger wings ARE bigger, but not by much. What's surprising is how little extra area F-16 wings have over the F-104.

But then the F-16 has a lot less fuselage!

Librarian

I bought that Monovell F-104 couple years back, opened the box and had completelygrey primed it within two minutes. That yellow just horrified me . Some very useful parts....

I remember looking at an F-104 and thinking that if you moved the intakes under the fuselage, shortened it and blended the wing you'd have an F-16...even the main undercarriage, bays etc seem the same. Definitely an influence on the designers.

Captain Canada

They did the 32nd scale one of the CAFs Red Indian in a bright red colour as well ! Yuck. Takes the life right out of you when you open the box lol
