So which one would you have preferred to see?

F-35 "Lightning 2" - 801 Sqn HMS PRINCE OF WALES

F-32 "Sea Cobra" - 892 Sqn HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH

(Both are older builds that have received the Photoshop treatment).

F-35 - 1/72 Italeri X-35
F-35 - 1/72 Italeri X-32

nice aircraft.
But by the time these aircraft get to sea there will only be a single squadron of raf aircraft from no 1 squadron (the first squadron in armed dervice in the world and origonaly a royal navail air serive squadron untill 1918.

Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

I've always preferred teh look of the F-32, since it has "character" ;)

And Radish has always had the names of the carriers down pat - HMS Improbable and HMS Unlikely :D

We're all different, thank goodness.  ;D

To my mind that Boeing 'thing' is a total aerodynamic and stylistic disaster. I was never more pleased when the F-35 won the contest.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Captain Canada

I'd take the Sea Cobra...name and all ! But I'd rather see it in the colours of your F-35. Nice builds, btw !

I didn't realize those were models until i saw Cpt. Canada use the word "build" i thought they were photoshopped versions of the real deal!! Excellent Job!!

Based on looks alone I always preferred the MDD/BAe contender...

Those are two great builds though...the F-35 in particular looks like a publicity shot from LockMart.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

I always prefered the X-32 because of the way it worked (true to the single-vectored-thrust-engine  principle) and in spite of it's looks. I have to say though, that until I bought a kit of one recently, I didn't appreciate just how strange it is! Name-wise I found a post by someone on another forum slagging it off as "looking like a demented bullfrog", so that's it for me; it would HAVE to be the Boeing F-32 Bullfrog..... ;D

Nice builds and good photoshop Gengriz!

Think I have seen the name for the F-32 as the Monica

I kinda have a soft spot for the X-32, and I think the final version of the X-32/F-32 looked a lot better than the one that actually flew.  One of these days I may try to convert the Italeri kit to the revised version.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

I also admit to a certain pro-F-35 bias here as I helped install and maintain the monster welder that makes the front lift fans for the JSF.

It welds the fan blades onto the hubs by rubbing them together, a bit like starting a fire by rubbing two Boy Scouts together......  -_-

Nice builds and good photoshop Gengriz!

To be fair Italeri hosed the kit on a few points, the vertical fins are incorrectly positioned and the belly bump is exaggerated,
the X-32 wasn't quite as strange as the model appears.

The production design does make for an interesting comparison.

Great models both!

My choice would be the F-32. The F-35 looks right but the F-32 is funky
