Spent yesterday up at Bundaberg (Queensland) at their bi-annual airshow.

Ahh, I was in Bundaberg for the 2007 show. It was pretty good - they did a big flypast of Tiger Moths and Dragon Rapides. And there were lots of warbirds there. The Pigs did their dump-and-burn display as well, which was awesome. The flying displays would not be permitted here, so it was interesting to see.

Nice. I like the homebuilt Hughes 500 and the Dak shot is very lovely !

Sadly the Pigs were MIA, as was just about every modern RAAF/Army/Navy bird. The lads must've been busy elsewhere

The Dragon and the 'Moths did a flypast. Lasted for some time it did

The highlight was the Boomer - it had its first post-resto flight (in Victoria, I think) a couple of days before it flew to Bundy (overnighting at Caboolture). Sadly, the left aileron clipped a runway marker during a cross wind landing on the grass strip, which grounded it for the weekend. Got to say though, up close the 'plane looked as though it had just rolled out off the production line - immaculate is not a strong enough adjective.

Yup, a zombified thread...

The 2011 Wide Bay International Airshow was on last weekend...it was a toss-up between the airshow and QMHE 2011

Anyways, here is a tiny bit of what went on...

(Think I'll have to blow this one up as a poster for the office...)
