I threatened to paint up a Bf109 or an Fw190 in perfectly accurate camouflage, only with completely off the wall colors like mauve and blue, then take b&w photos of it to prove to the "experts" that you can't tell what color something was painted from a b&w photo.  Shades of grey are just shades of grey.
