There's been various suggestions of a HOG memorial GB for Gary Allum: http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,25168.0.html

Rather than clutter up the condolences thread with a discussion about it, I've dragged up an old GB idea I had, inspired by his work, as a discussion starter here:

I think having a Group Build to pay homage to the memory of HOG is an excellent idea. His work was truly original and inspiring.

How about a GB where everything that is built has to incorporate the word "HOG". You can build a huey gunship, or a High Observation Gun,  a Heavy Overtank/ Ground...etc. .????

You'd better declare the A-10 out of bounds for such a build though..... ;D

I don't know, It sounds like it would be to hard to build stuff out of found items.

You know I'm in!  ;D

I think if I ever finish my Toner Cartrige Space Carrier project it will definately be named after HOG.  Now I need to start rooting through the junk pile again!

The Hog BG needs to be a 'found item' GB.  That way BO can FINALLY finish his toner cartridge space carrier, and I can get rid of my broken remote control and turn it into a space liner.

I think this theme would best honour his most original stuff.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

I think it should involve an Inhaler in some way.
Come on, you all have a friend who just throws them away.

I agree. Found item build is the best idea.

Here is my start at a Memorial Build to HOG.

This is an Arado..err, umm Oh hell I dunno....

Had two old Hobbycrap Ar 234 B and C kits laying around, add one Monogram ME 262, parts from the spares bin, etc.etc. and you get this madness....

There actually was a proposal for something kinda like this:

That would be the Messerschmitt Me P 1109:

Can't wait to see the final product.

my idea for a HOG GB build would be this lil guy saved from kids meal oblivion I was wodering if lil toys like this would fall under the "Found Item" catagory??? esp as I found it in a parking lot ;D To give some feeling of the size of it I used my 1/72 "Zac Attack" P-40 as a scale reference I figured to say his scale is 1/72 for the project.A lil button on his back flapps the wings but I plan to fix the wings in place and remove the gaps between the wings and body (or would it be Fuselage????) and giving him a helmet and visor for starters What ya think???

Assuming there's no objection from the rest of the moderating team, I'm hoping to get this one started in the next week.

I'm thinking of splitting this into two categories: dioramas and projects made from "found objects". What are your thoughts?
