Now, I could've sworn Italy used the Mossie postwar.  All NMF with roundels in 6 positions, but I can't find any mention of it anywhere, so I must have seen a whiff of it I think, because in my minds eye I see a model of it.

Prime suspect for this kind of thing would be Radish, or possibly the Wooksta.

Am I going a little mad?

And am I going to have to build this whiff now?

An all metal finished Mossie  !!!!! that I would like to see   doped in Speed Silver might have happened.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

I don't know about Italy, but silver Mosquitoes were used in the mid-east and I think they tried them in asia too. Their wooden construction didn't hold up well in the heat.

Yes, definitely, you should build it!

I can find no info on country lists for the Mossie of Italy ever being a user so Whiff away.

Going to go with the silver doped finish or Italian sand with smoke rings?

Not me, but a cracking idea.
The Israelis used silver and camouflaged ones, as well as all black nightfighters.
The French used them in both Vietnam (Indo China) and North Africa too.

But they did Nev - unless I'm missing the double layer of sarcasm  :banghead:

Italy didn't as far as I know but two who did and suprised me were Turkey and Burma.

The French used FB.VIs and PR.XVIs at least....decals are available for a sharkmouthed FB.VI in 1/72nd at least.
Lots of Israeli decals available.
Turkey operated the T.III and I think the FB.6, and I'd not heard of Burma but why not?
Don't forget the Nationalist Chinese used them, and probably Red China too.
And the Dominican Republic.

Other possible "daft" ones are:

Thailand, Egypt, Brazil, Spain and Portugal.

I've got a Carpena Sheet with that French shark mouth Mossie on it  ;D

Interesting you mention Thailand. When I read that the Burmese had Mossies I thought considering the incredible mixture of aircraft these two countries have had over the years they would be ideal subjects to fool the JMN's

Mossie

Italy would be good.  I'll echo everyone else in saying that as far as I'm aware, Italy didn't use the Mossie.

Throwing ideas around, Football War maybe?  India?  I was pretty sure myself that India had used mossies but I can't find any references on the net.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
