Has anyone got any particularly awesome MiG 15 schemes? (obviously I'd prefer something that doesn't require airbrush or NMF, but if it's awesome i'll forgive you even if i can't paint it ;D ;D ;D)

Plenty of Chinese MiG-15's on Wings Palette, some that you wouldn't need to airbrush to do faithfully, although I can't promise the masking will be easy!

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Thanks guys

Mossie: I already checked out wings palette, I even posted pictures of some schemes i found, however due to slight technical difficulties the pics showed up for me as they were in my cache but this morning they were invisible  >:( >:( >:( . I have edited the URL's into my post. The schemes i posted are two of the more interesting ones (to me at least, with 4 colours). I'd like to do something out of the ordinary, not the same thing every other model you see is wearing (especially when that involves NMF ;D ;D ;D ;D)

The Z8/super frelon blue scheme is pretty cool and that lime green Q5, but I'm not sure the plastic of my model could withstand the lime green colour used it looks like it would melt right through ;D. THe background of teh Q5 shot with the two other Q5 (looking) fins with real world photoshop colour replacement variations on the same pattern make this shot pretty cool too.

Here's a night fighter scheme i might be tempted by as well

Ah, sorry about mentioning the Wings Pallete links, didn't notice you'd posted them.  Photobucket is playing now, one you didn't post is this rather funky 'Christmas pullover' wavy variation on the tiger stripe scheme:

Mossie As the "christmas pullover scheme" (as it will hence forth be refered to) looked like it was done in MS paint I was wondering if it was actualy a real world scheme and if it really looked like that.

Some googling yielded this: http://www.clavework-graphics.co.uk/aircraft/aircraft_002.html A veritable treasure trove of hig quality profiles. I've linked to the mig 15 page but if you want chinese schemes as per this threads title just click the chinese star at the bottom of the page and it shows all this guys chinese profiles by aircraft type. Christmas pullover goodness

It appears the christmas pullover may have been an unwanted present after all:

"Scramble nl does not allow images to be hotlinked" and i can't get any other images that work either

but doesn't the the J-10 look like a cross between the F-16 and the MIG 29.

Mossie

Yeah, great stuff Greg!

Andy, bolt the rear of a F-16 onto a Typhoon & your probably closer, looks wise.  I've never been able to see the MiG-29 attributes that some folks spot.

I think it's the canards that give it the fulcrum look besides it more like take the typhoon intake and add to the F-16, add the fulcrum canards to the F-16 and the variant F-16xl wings and behold the J-10

Nope, the J-10 looks like a rip off of the failed IAI Lavi fighter the Israelis were working on that got cancelled.
