That's rather nice, and the photography is pretty cool too. Shame the pictures are so tiny...

That was my thought as well.  Hard for me to make an "homage" out of the Italeri HMS Hood in my stash if I can't see what to homage.  ;)

For some reason, until now I did not have the Shipbucket site bookmarked.  I did a Google search to pull up the page, and there were several entries mentioning Shipbucket which followed the main entry.  One of these led to a thread on the stardestroyer.net message board from 2008, where participants were challenged to design a large, modern warship, using elements from SB (back when it was still on Photobucket).  Some of the designs are ridiculous, but a couple caught my eye as possible doable.

and a Russian counterpart

Okay, I went with embedding the images in the message.  I hate to do it that way, as the images are lots wider than the message column, but needs must, I guess.

OK, with those three stardestroyer.net images, I've found you can open them by right-clicking and choosing "open in new tab/window", but only one at a time. Very odd. Anyway, they're all daft. I think the Russian one is my favourite.

I found this on modelwarships.com.  I don't know a lot about older British ship types, but apparently the RN modernized a number of WWII destroyers by refitting them as ASW frigates, much the same as the USN did with the FRAM programs.  This build depicts a proposal for one of the classes which were not modernized.

I'm glad you linked that one!  I saw it, meant to link it, and promptly forgot.   ;D

I like it! Not often you see builds of smaller ships like that.

The original Type 62 AA frigate, using the former M class destroyers, which would complement the the new Type 61 Air Direction frigates just being built of the Cathedral class.  Not seen any drawings of the design although Leo Marriots book on RN frigates mentions a more complete conversions as per the Type 15 frigates as opposed to the Type 16 style Rob has built, but Rob has done the research and the costs of these conversions did effect the level of conversion they were willing to perform. Its a lovely build however and one i look fowards to seeing first hand at SMW in November.
