Nick

That Boston is very nice!  I can see them replacing the Bristol Brigands out East too, what with their propensity to fall apart mid-air too.

I like that A-26 Martin, very smart

(I might just "borrow" the idea, I've got the Italeri 'K' in the stash)  ;)

And now the next one for this month of Furlough.....

A Brewster SB2A-4 Buccaneer of the Dutch East Indies Airforce. Just prior to the Fall of Java.

This is a Special Hobby kit built 100% OOB. The last decal option is for a "fictitious" Dutch scheme. So no prizes for guessing what option I went for.......
For those wondering the UK called it the Bermuda. Using them mainly as target tugs.

Paint job is Halfords white primer for the underside and Gunze for the uppers. It doesn't show to well in these photos but it is in a dark green and brown disruptive cammo scheme on top........
This kit looks quite daunting on the sprue, with a good 60-70% of the parts count being inside the cockpit and Gunners tubs! I chickened out and acquired the peewit masking set for this kit, theres a lot of "Glass" on this bird.

And here it is with an interloping real World Airfix TBD-1 that was also finished today to give an idea of how big the Buccaneer is.
I always hope for the best.

experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Massive and beautifully built machine, that one! And an inadvertent flashback for me.

One of my first builds as a kid was the Matchbox Buffalo in corresponding Dutch East Indies scheme. I got the idea from reading a very nice but somewhat sad youth novel about a Dutch pilot being overrun by the Japanese invasion, being cared for by indigenous javanesians, saving his life and raising his awareness of the racism embedded in the colonial system.

Now, 40 years on, I can't remember neither the novels name nor how it ended, but I remember I liked it a lot, and that I kept thinking on it for a while after having read it.

Ah well..  Back to plastics..
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

Buccaneer's come out very well Martin, as has the Devastator   Well done mate

Must admit the kit has been sitting in my stash awaiting somebody to bring a masking set out for it, thanks for letting me know they have  ;)

A bit more modern this time.....

An Eagle F Mk-2 (F-15D) of 5sqn RAF. Based at RAF Binbrook around 2012.
Basically, what if the Tonka F-2/3 just didn't work out. Would the UK have joined the Eagle owners club as a result?

This is my take on what the F-15 may have looked like in UK service. I'm working on the RAF sticking with two seaters for the air defence role and not taking on any single seaters. Meaning the F-15B would have been the Eagle F Mk-1.

an old Hasegawa F-15C/D kit built OOB with a suitable UK paint job of Light Aircraft Grey undersides, Camouflage grey (aka Barley Grey) uppers and a Medium Sea Grey nose cone. Paints were mainly from the Hataka range.
This one had been sitting around on the shelf of doom about 80% done for at least 7-8 years. And was always going to be British. I just got distracted by other ideas and it fell by the wayside.
I always hope for the best.

I like the look of that OGL, and it's pretty plausible too.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Tidy

Personally I think we may have ended up with Hornets had the ADV Tornado been axed.
In 1980 McDonnell-Douglas visited at least one Phantom base to plug the F-18 and the resident jocks were impressed by what they saw.
Interoperability with Canada plus no AAR-related rejigging of the Hornet were seen as positives.

Yeah!  love that Eagle Martin ----

I started one some years ago, I used a Tornado F.3 nose on it and revised the nozzles, I ought to get it finished ---  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
