Mirage VSTOL

A number of sites feature the Mirage IIIV and its test predecessor, the Balzac.
Basically a longer thinner Mirage III with Rolls Lift engines in the fuselage.  It was intended to replace F100 and Mystere Bs as tactical nuclear bombers. 150 were planned. As with other 60s vstols it proved too ambitious.

No model exists of the IIIV in kitform, but there is a vacform Balzac.

With the German VJ 101 and AVS, and Italy's involvement with Germany in VAK 191, it would have led to a vstol NATO force in the 70s, matching the RAF's 1154 force.  If you look at the different machines they make an interesting force.

I agree with You ... esp. the US/German AVS would have been a very interesting project !!!
