I've always admired both shipbuilders and their work (normally the outstanding builds at SMW and often the Best in Show) and that Montanna is up there with the best. Stupendous

Actually, now that you mention it, my Montana did get "Most Creative Entry" at a contest 1 1/2 years ago, and also just a few months ago this past Spring get "Veteran's Best of Show" award at a VA center.

I do too sorta. Maybe at the end of this year I'll get to build a second Montana BB, and then you'll see more big guns!

Sorry if it's against the rules for resurrecting a very old topic. But I didn't feel like starting a new thread.

Anyway, I'm taking a break from doing big model projects and have got back to work on a smaller 1/700 modern IOWA class battleship that I'm working on right now that I'm doing as a WHIF. It's nothing fancy, Just something small and fast to put together for a small contest coming up. It'll have additional Harpoon launchers, modern 5' guns, RAM launchers, VLS, and maybe some Seasparrow launchers. I hope to have a few buildup pics this weekend.

And I can't wait to see what you come up with. I've got a few refit Iowas in the Strategic Styrene Reserve (ie, stash) that I have no idea how I'm doing them up. Yours might give me ideas.

Seadude, only YOU could call an Iowa Class battlsehip 'smaller'!

But then after the Habbakuk everything else IS smaller I guess!
