Spotted a new book on Amazon focusing on Convair projects.  I'd like to see some information on the Kingfish especially.

Simon. :drink:
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Well, I picked this one up at Christmas & it lived up to the promise, choc full of flying boat & bomber designs from the sane to the nuts.  I'd very much recommend it for anyone interested in projects from the post war period up to the sixties.

There's a second volume due out in Autumn/Fall, Convair Advanced Designs: Secret Fighters, Transports, & Radical Concepts 1946-1962.  The Kingfish didn't make it into the last book, but from the sounds of 'Radical Concepts' it might make into this volume.  I think I'll put it on next years Christmas list!

I think I'll leave a print out of this lying around as  a hint for birthday time!

You'd like aspects of the first volume, Hustler with a planing hull, hydro-ski & tilting engines???  Rip out the prop pages & give them to Narses!

Mind you , I'll be surprised if you don't have it already....

Regarding Volume 2 that link has it down as Speciality Press who have actually cancelled their aviation publishing and farmed out thier outstanding books to other publishers. They will still distribute the books but their publishing is focusing on the car range rather than avaition. Some have gone to Criecy in the UK, but not sure what the status is regarding the next Convair volume ?
Project Cancelled SIG Secretary, specialising in post war British RN warships, RN and RAF aircraft projects. Also USN and Russian warships

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Have you got Vol 1 Chris?  There's some pre & early war stuff that you'd love.

Thats a simple plain truth of modern life Simon - we all do it at times. Similar to the old phrase of "please engage brain before opening mouth" - I've never learnt that one either  :banghead:
