In 32nd, I don't think a Whirlwind would be much bigger than a 72nd Lancaster.

Sad person that I am I couldn't resist doing the maths!

Whirlwind Length: 32 ft 3 in (9.83 m) Wingspan: 45 ft 0 in (13.72 m) therefore length 307 mm and 429 mm wingspan (just over 12 inches and just under 17 inches!) in 1/32nd

Lancaster Length: 69 ft 4 in (21.13 m) Wingspan: 102 ft 0 in (31.09 m) therefore 293 mm and 431 mm wingspan in 1/72nd. Very close indeed!  ;D

Although some here might feel the need to lengthen the wings...

What? Really?  :-\

So i've been led to believe.  Maybe i'm mistaken...

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

And then call the result "Welkin" .... I'm sure someone on here did an improved high altitude LONGER WINGED Whirlwind ???

I've been building a longer winged, Griffon engined, Welkin for over a year. One day I may finish it....................
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I've built a Merlin engine' d Whirlwind in 1/72, but in 1/32 it would be OTB

I just had an email from SH to say the big Whirlwind was delayed till April, which isn't all that long really.

I would send that email.  They will probably be delighted to hear that someone cares!!

Well the 1/32 Whirlwind is out, at least in the Czech Rep

Now this is the straight Mk I fighter version. Does anyone know if they plan on bringing a Fighter Bomber FB I out ?

Are they going to pull their finger out with the announced Mosquito NF.XV and NF.36 they've been touting the CAD for?

Special Hobby announced a 1/72nd Bugatti-De Monge 100P racer kit (SH72457) at Nuremberg last year, apologies if it's been mentioned before, but what's new is some CAD images aaaaaaand I need at least one of these, please:

If I'm honest I'm kinda concerned the spinner's shown as one part given it's a contraprop...

Yup, let's just hope it's an early prototype of the kiy. I can certainly see one entering the stash
