It is isn't it. I see it will be a post War version in what will presumably be the first boxing.

Yeah, I'd wondered about doing a water bomber version, I was going to get an Italeri Sunderland but thought a later model would be better suited.  Might be tempted....

Special Hobby, RS and AZ are the people I purchase from most nowadays, although Airfix with their new tools are starting to run them close

I was starting to look at what (if anything) to pre-order from the Big H for collection at MK (10% discount plus no postage  ) and noticed the price of the Sunderland for the first time. Not bad at all, indeed quite reasonable in my opinion, but then all these things are relative. Mute point at the moment though as it's not out yet, or at least not yet in stock.

However something else I've been waiting for is

Hannants have mentioned on the front page that the Sunderland will be in in two weeks, so should be in time for MK.  I'd go ahead and pre-order.

Must admit, I was taken with the price too, tempting.....

Geoff sent me a link yesterday to Oxonian's site, they are already selling it as in.

I'm still not 100% sure I'll be getting it ? Need to think about it.

I'm tempted with the Sunderland, but I suspect that the price, not to mention the size, will put me off.  There's a guy on Britmodeller who's been slating the kit, finding quite a few errors - but contrary to the belief that he's an armchair know-all critic (they seem to populate Britmodeller), he does have the advantage of working with one in a New Zealand museum so I suspect that he knows what he's talking about.

Perhaps he should get in touch with an aftermarket mod-pack maker instead of just venting on a forum.  He could make some money!  But it would also be harder work that just writing excoriating comments online.

I have one of Special Hobby's Northrop Deltas in the stash.  It has wonderfull spats and could only be improved by fitting floats or skis.  Oh look...

I got one from West Coast Hobbies that I was hoping to fit floats too. Looks like I won't have to ! I was quite surprised how small the aircraft was !

I will have to get this version as well as the RAAF one I already have.  After all, in addition to the floats and skis it also has a different fuselage window layout...
