Oh dear - a tad naughty I would have thought. I don't know why but I thought that this was your book, Joe. I'd heard/read/dreamt that you were producing one and for some reason assumed that this was it.

Joe was writing a book but circumstances forced it onto the back burner . Joes book however would cover the project from inception to cancellation and beyond, although i think his would focus more on the planned operation use only and bypass the educated speculation for fear of being misread and used as dogma.

Joes conclusions should prove interesting reading when eventually published

Just received mine (thanks for the spot at ModelsForSale).

Looks good on first inspections save for one almighty screw up on the profiles !!!!
Some numpty publisher has used stretch picture to fit oprion when creating the pages so every colour TSR2 profile is longer, thinner and with a very swept back tail, in effect looking more like a Vigilante than a TSR2   

Over 2 years late to be published and they still managed to botch it....

Will do Nev, the book is very informative on the subject with some eductaed speculation on in service usage and hardare carried, i suspect the artwork by andy Evans was all to scale when created, but the publishers then let a muppet do the page design whos either tried to fit more per page or set his software to strectch image rather than keep proportions. Oh boy will we be taking the piss at the SAM stand at SMW.

FINALLY got mine today (Christ hannants take their time  ) And while not quite what i was expecting im very happy with it... A recommended buy especially as a starting point for TSR2 research...

I got a copy of this today, from Amazon along with my 'Tailless and Flying Wing' book.

I'd not even seen it before anywhere (I must have been blind.....) but it looked pretty interesting, notwithstanding the issues re scources etc. LOTS of scope for Whiffs, so long as you have enough kits of course, and I'm talking 1/72 here.

Pauls sources are all out of the PRO, much of the TSR2's future role and systems was officially investigated and recorded which from the basis of the book, some of the stand off weapon proposals were rather fanciful but that was era with the RAF desperate to find alternatives to Polaris solution and maintain the Nuclear deterent. Some of the later systems proposals are slightly speculative as there he's had to base later development on actual systems that are only mentioned in passing with regard to the TSR2 as of course all offical paperwork on the aircraft role dried up following the cancellation.
