Hey Guys, Thinking about doing a Model using Scotch Blue Painter's Tape and Was Wondering if i Should or Shoildn't use it for Painting a 2 Tone Paint Scheme????? Thanks for Looking.

The 3M blue tape will work.  Check when you buy it.  There are two versions.  You want the one that says for "delicate surfaces".  It has the least tackiness.  Make sure you have a good first layer of paint.  I suggest washing with warm soapy water and rinse well before painting.  I usually give the model a quick wipe down with a clean rag dipped in alcohol right before painting.  You don't want finger oils to interfere with paint adhesion.  I would also recommend a good primer, especially if you are using acrylic paints.  If you apply acrylics directly to styrene, the blue tape has enough tackiness to lift off paint when you remove it.  Alternatively, you can find Frisket paper at most art & craft stores.  It has lower tack than the blue tape.  Also, Tamiya makes a low tack tape as well.  But even these can lift paint if it doesn't have good adhesion to the styrene.  Cleaning before priming is very important.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.
