My main one is enlargement and expansion on my rewrite of WWII using the "Bucharest Alliance" concept I created for my Bubble top Hurricane build. It will be more story than actual model building.

As for models. I'm working on a variation on the Messerschmitt P.1101.
I'm adjusting a 1/72 Huma kit of it. I'm addinga bit of bulk to the fuselage to represent higher fuel carrying capacity. I'll also be adding a bigger canopy. It will be captured by the British or French rather than the Americans.

I have not built a model kit from 25 years but I started two projects :

1) 1/72  Griffon III       (Mirage 2000/Rafale) in Don Quixote 400th anniversary spanish Mirage F1 colours.
2) 1/144 Chengdu J-47 (Su-47 with delta wings) a chinese variant of the Su-47 Berkut.

Ed S

Way too many ideas and models with too little time for all of them.

In work, I have
     FW-190 Zwilling, Luftwaffe '46
B-49B USAAC Operational Bomber in ETO in 1947
     P-51 Twin Jet
     He-68

Planned
XF2R-1 Dark Shark as operational USMC Korean War fighter
Ka-50 as tiltrotor instead of coaxials
P-80 as USAAC '46 in ETO.
YF-23 for the Movies/Comics GB if it comes along
F4U Corsair for the next Profiles GB
Me-410 for the Navalize GB if it happens
     Piper Enforcer
Mig 1.44 in Finnish camo and markings

I also have a number of WHIFF's that I need to decide on colors and markings.
    SR.53
    CF-105
    Su-47 Berkut
    F-8 Two seat conversion
    Flitzer
    X-29
    F-20
    A-10 NAWS
    F-107
Revell ATB (their What IF B-2)

I also have a bunch of kits that I may make into WHIFF's or real world depending on my mood when I start them.  All are 1/72.

Ed, what are you using for the two-seater Crusader? I have plans for something similar, but I'm undecided on how to add the second seat.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Ed S

The F-8 is the Hasegawa kit and I picked up one of the resin two seat conversion kits from a friend.  I forget who made the resin kit.

Possibly Maintrack, I think they were the only ones to do a TF8 conversion.  A two seat F8 was offered to the Royal Navy as a Phantom alternative.  They would have been supplied as airframes to be fitted with British engines and avionics with the work contracted to Shorts at Belfast.

On the go:  various Spitfires.
Aston Martin  - Power, Beauty, Soul.

My house is small, so I'll do it in 3D Studio Max instead of doing in plastic......

Current:

Sun Yat-Sen Heavy/Medium/Main-Battle Tank in ROCA colours

Future (the list is long...... hey, one at a time):

"The Good Guys"

(Items starting from the forth will be in no particular chronological order.)

  • S-67 Blackhawk in USMC colours (incomplete, to be resumed later)
  • CM21 IFV (incomplete, to be resumed later; new one-man turret)
  • T-10M Heavy Tank (incomplete, to be resumed later)
  • Modern incarnation of Steam Tank (tentatively set to be a heavily-redesigned M48, like what Brazilian Tamoyo tank is to M41)
  • Ideas inspired by Logan Hartke's geriatric military thread, some of which being Leopard 1 tank hull with T-72M1 Moderna turret and M3 Halftrack with Avenger SAM station
  • AIDC Design 406A/B (tailless delta-winged design studied as part of the Indigenous Defense Fighter project)
  • Eternal Blue Sky Co. "Feather Clipper" Light Tactical Fighter (aircraft from Henry Yeh's ROC on Mainland China post-1950; to be based on the rough drawing here except with only one engine, TF41 instead of F125)
  • Long Whale Group "Spiritual Eagle" Air Superiority Fighter (aircraft from Henry Yeh's ROC on Mainland China post-1950; model to be based on MiG-31 but with tailless delta wings and powered by TF41 or F100 turbofans)
  • What-if AIDC Advanced Defense Fighter (model to be based on X-31 but with two F125 turbofans)
  • AIDC Low Cost International Fighter Configuration A (F-5E development powered by two F125 turbofans and with BVR capability)
  • What-if ROCAF Indigenous Production F-104 (F-104G with new radar as well as TC-1 and TC-2 AAMs)
  • Chengdu Super J-7 (model to be a hybrid of FC-1 prototype forward fuselage and J-7 aft fuselage and control surfaces)

  • Chengdu J-9
  • Shengyang J-11 (old)
  • Shengyang J-13 (with lateral intakes)

  • JP Vieira's Phantom-Flogger
  • Various interceptor projects from BSP, ASP, and SSP books (including but not limited to AVRO 729 based on RP1's drawing, Fairey Delta III, Republic AP-75, MiG Project 701......) dressed in some (maybe) improbable but (definitely) kick-butt camouflage schemes
  • Ace Combat 2 Scarface Squadron: navalized F-4E, F-15N, LTV Model 1601, navalized YF-22
  • 120S MBT
  • CM25 AFV with M24 turret and 76mm gun M1 barrel

  • Comet/Avenger-based Olifant wannabe
  • Churchill/Black-Prince-based heavy tank, turret to be inspired by Patton or Centurion, armament to early Cold War standard
  • Boeing Microfighter and 747-based Fighter Carrier

"The Bad Guys"

(For some of these I'm looking for a camouflage scheme that looks like blood stains...... thinking that it might exude an air of brutality?  ;D)

  • Shengyang J-8E further upgraded with R-77 missiles
  • Chengdu J-7FS
  • Nanchang J-12
  • Shengyang J-13 (with under-fuselage intake)
  • Su-27 with F/A-18E/F control surfaces
  • Type 59 tank with flamethrower replacing the co-axial machine gun
  • Maverick-inspired tank destroyer combing hull of Chi-Ha medium tank with FL-12 turret (from AMX-13/105 light tank)
  • T-62-based counterpart to the real-life ZTZ-96; cast turret with squared-off, flatter front faces (feature taken from T-72), 125mm gun (ditto), and maybe rear slat armours that double as storage racks (feature taken from Type 69)

To the individual soldiers, *everything* is a frontal assault!
