SMW 2009 - Wants, Swaps, etc

One aspect of SMW is that being such a large gathering of modellers from the UK & beyond that its possible to find a lot of models items that are rarely seen or available through local shops and smaller shows. Many regulars save funds to allow them to make the most of these rich pickings, however with the show being so large it can often difficult to find what your looking for.

You may note that my title is 'Evil Kit Finder General' that's partly brought about from having a knack of finding kits people are looking for, however the Evil part is that i tend to remember what people have discussed and will happily point out suitable items on line or at shows that meet that requirement, normally when catching the victim unawares..

Another aspect of SMW, is that people often say toward the end of the day that they were unable to find what they were looking for, whens its generally too late for anybody to help. Alternately said item may not be available at the show but other member may have surplus in their stash.

However back to topic, some members of the forum can be rather good at finding items or have them in stock or know where to find them on-line.

Rather than be disappointed on the day, now's your chance to say it there is anything special your looking for so the finders are aware what to look for or deals can be made in advance of the show. Be warned anybody who then moans that they were unable to find what they were looking for at the show will be shown no mercy  :banghead:

Hya Geoff,
I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a couple of things, firstly, the Revell Arado E555 in 72nd scale, and a couple of the Italeri YF-23's. Sauragmon is after one of these and I said I would have a look for one for him.
Did you make it to the kit swap yesterday??
Cheers,
Chris.

be warned!  useing the services of the Evil Kit finder General can be very harmfull to the health/wealth of your bank account.  He has a very high success rate, you have been warned LOL

If anyone has FLYING BOATS they want to get rid of, I'm possibly interested.
Especially:

Revell 1/72nd HU-16 Albatross
VEB 1/72nd Beriev Be-6

Matchbox SAAB J-29F. Needs to be the Matchbox issue with Austrian markings.
I would be interested in just the Austrian markings, but I would still be looking for the plastic bits, and NO I am not planning an Austrian J-29F!

VEB? Is that the East German 'Playmaker' kitmakers? I did one 5 years ago in Pirate markings and am pretty sure I have another in my stash.....
Will check tonight when I get home and let you know. The normal stockists at SMW are KitKrazy or CollectaKit.

On the look out for Fine molds X-wing, TiE Interceptor and standard TiE  and the Special Hobby/MPM Hornet's MK3 Sea Hornet and Night Fighter version.
I'll add as I think of them.  Add the Revell Arado 555 to that list too.
My biggest priority this year is a decent airbrush/compressor combo as the airbrushes I've been (not) using recently are useless
