Strange model, good making but.....one step back?  ;D
Not really,
as it is built as a requirement by the Marines for a conventional light STOL transport aircraft.
Cheers,
Chris.

I think it's a great job Chris   , my only comment is I would've had the tail slightly more forward so the trailing edge of the rudder lined up with the end of the fuselage
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

For an alternative thought, instead of the old-school E-2C engines why not use the newer ones being placed on the Hawkeye 2000, or better yet a pair off the Juliette Hercs. (More available power = Shorter TO run)

Still loving this idea, kinda wish I had a spare 22 kit to play with now

Hya Shas,
The engines and props are from something I already had, that's why they and the wing went on. I didn't have to buy anything extra that way.
I originally wanted it to be powered by 2 turbo fans, but I have been unable to get hold of any suitable ones.
Cheers for the comments Robert, the tail is as far forward as it can feasibly go really, because of the shape of it and the fuselage.
But.....if I find a more suitable tail, I might change it, but to be honest, I like it as it is, as I wanted it to have a high tail.
Cheers,
Chris.

Captain Canada

That's a really cool build Chris ! I like everything but the tail, just doesn't suit it. Too thin and tall, and the rounded shape of the horizontal stabs look like a WWII bird, and not that modern square look that the wings have. Mind you, that could easily be rectified if you resurrected the bird as a B model with the new 6 bladed Hawkeye props
