from my friendly neighborhood K-Mart. The nights are getting longer, and I need a project. Not like I don't have enough styrene already...

But the question is, what to do with it? I didn't really do any planning Mi-24 wise before the purchase...

USCG?

Raspberry Ripple?

Hooters Air?

LA County Sheriff?

All of those options could look very cool on a Hind. My vote would be for the LA County Sheriff.  That would be pretty "daring" (for lack of a better word) even for a whiff!  Raspberry Ripple would be cool, too. Especially with a  Hip flying in Raspberry Ripple already.  I've got a USCG Hind planned as well, inspired by LOGAN'S PROFILE.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

K-Mart carries models where you live?  I haven't seen models in a chain store like that in eons.

They didn't for the longest time (like close to 20 years), and they don't always have a lot of selection, but they seem to consistently have some Revells and snap kits. They went through a phase where there was little but F-106s at one point...

Turn it into the ambulance chopper from Firefly.
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

My back-history prejudices me, LA County Sheriff or LAPD, South Central LA Division.

Yep, Central Division as air support for these guys:

LAPD SWAT "public safety" vehicle assigned to the 13th precinct(Newton) of the Central Division circa 2015.

|'d go with USCG, or in the same scheme the Cobras were with the US Customs against the drug runners?

Santa's replacement sleigh. Hey it's got good storage and if you replace the gun with a package delivery system...

I love the Hooter's idea, however it seems kinda weird to put the brand based on bOObs on an aircraft whose name is synonymous with bum.

Just like Lord of War. Remove the weapons and fit some SAR equipment

How about a flying fire truck for putting out sky scraper fires? The crew compartment could be occupied by the foam generator for fire retardant foam and the gun mount used as the foam cannon. You could even go as far as being silly enough to use the wing stations as multiple rescue hoists, perhaps having as many as 8 people on slings who might be trapped on the top of the building.

LA County Sheriff has my vote, or the LAPD.  Of course, Detroit PD with the yellow and black might look pretty cool too.  'Bout Time them lawmen got somethin' with a few teeth 'round these here parts.
