Nice TPE 331 powered Volpar Turboliner conversion here. http://www.edcoatescollection.com/ac3/Airline/Ransom%20Airlines%20Volpar%20Turboliner.html I think Air America used them in Vietnam.
Don't remember seeing a turbo float version but it's definitely possible and would look pretty good.

Very cool ! There's one preserved on the side of the highway in Northern Ontario, sitting in a fountain with a dock etc. One of the neatest preserved aeroplanes I've ever seen.
