Nice one Eddie: looks like a very credible variation on the prototype scheme.

A yellow P is going to look very good on that black IF you can get it to be opaque enough.... If I was printing the P decal, I'd be inclined to try printing it with a black background on white decal paper instead of clear, but it depends if you can match the black closely enough on your printer.

Yes, it's always the IFs. ;)

Here's waht I'm starting with.....

Seeing this build progress is one of the best Christmas presents I could imagine, Eddie.  You are a Master of the Styrene Arts!

That landing gear fits like a glove!

The only thing that could top this would be spats.  ;)

Nice progress, Eddie! Looking forward to final roll-out!!!

I did a lot of thinking about this part of the build after you mentioned it, because I didn't want to find out I was wrong at a bad time. I went and found some decals with a white background, cut out a circle and put it down first. Then Applied the the letter in the center. Very hamfisted try, so I had to touch it up with paint. Black first.

Now why would a grown man sit around and do this.......;)

Wow - I would never have attempted decal-bashing like that!

Um, you do know that you can buy P-decals, I take it?

I'm sure there are lots of goodies out to be to make my modeling life easier, but I am forever in a situation of having to make do with what I've got. I'd love to be able to buy those things, but I'm broke most of the time. ;D Just call me the Frugal Modeler. ;)

Oh, I know what you're talking about, Eddie - I call it BABS (Broke Arse Bugger Syndrome)

Kinda like why I just paint my markings - saves on having to worry about decal sets etc.

You and me both, Eddie (funny I've never seen you at the "frugal Modeler" meetings). I only wish I had the talent to be able to do what you do! That's some mighty fine decal customizing!

Your Wellie is coming along so nicely I'd hate to see you have to rush things, Eddie.

I'm glad my scheduling goof turned out to be a plus. Good luck!
