I'm in. Well it is already Naval, but I think this fits well within the "or anything else you think falls into a broad concept of navalization ..." rule.  I leave that call to the moderator.

Supermarine Attacker on floats.

Using the 1/72 scale Eastern Express kit, which is quite crude, likely ex-Frog mold from the 1950's. Floats will be from a bf-109 (lengthened) or perhaps some other floats I have laying around (An2, Serian).

Will be marked as Fleet Air Arm, with a few possibilites: Korea, cruiser based, Malaya.

Started work.

Sorry "freddie", you had to go.  Scratch cockpit tub and seat from a hawk going in.  Seat will be back dated to period seat.

Keep going!

I was going to put a hull on one and even started work on it, but it's languished for a couple of years. You may give me the inspiration to start it up again.

lengthening the floats.  Cut at a seam and inserted stryrene tubing.  Still need sanding.  Strut will be moved.

The Rat- would love to see yours on a hull.

That's interesting: you could say that the UK government got serious about jet seaplane fighters for some reason, so the other manufacturers produced competitors to the SRA.1.

heres my take on a possible Attacker floatplane using 'Spitfire' type floats

i went for a boring EDSG. over sky scheme same as normal service examples, it would look nice with suez stripes tho to add a splash of colour?

cheers, joe

Cobra/TRSjoe,  I have not fully decided on the markings yet, but Suez stripes over the normal FAA colors has been my first choice.  Need to run the paint shop this afternoon, who ever thought Iwould not have the right grays in the stash?

Thanks for posting your version on floats- looks like mine will be quite similar, but I went for longer floats to account for the heavier weight.  Will also have RATO bottles, as I imagine she would have a longish takeoff run without them.

Can I suggest you to modify inlets 'à la Taon' in order to avoid water ingestion?  -_-

Paint on.  Went for the Suez markings.  Also cut the canopy to display open.  First use of airbrush- pleased with it.  Will have to wait until the weekend to finish
