Nice work if you can get it, although the operator isn't forced to be there!  Anyone know what the range of the datalink is on these things, just how far can the operator be away?

Basically, they use satellite links and the operator can be anywhere on the planet.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

I guess satelites have their plus sides, just jolly boys trips to Seychelles isn't one of them!

Great, you a UAV driver neb?  Be good to get some insight into the real world of UAV's, if you can.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Nice pics!!!

Hey, guys, a reminder, please don't link to Airliners.net pics.  There was some tiff about it a few years back I don't want to revisit.
I exist to pi$$ others off!!!
My categorized models directory on my site.

What's the problem with adding links?  Posting photo's brings up copyright problems but I can't see that the links break any legalities?

I think what he means by "linking to" Airliners.Net is to include their images directly in the forum's pages. It is considered as intrusive because it steals some bandwidth without generating any activity on the pages. Of course there is no problem with placing a proper URL to the image on the forum (or any forum or site for that matter...).

Me, I'm dishonest, and you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest.
Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

That does look good, but I'm sure the later triple-blue S-3 will look even better.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Saw this one on the a.net homepage and thought, "What a funky-looking F-16".  Didn't realize until I read the caption that it's actually the JF-17.  I think this is the first time I've seen one from this angle.

Another Centennial of Naval Aviation bird, this time a TC-12B.  According to the Nav Air FB page, the next aircraft going into paint will be a legacy F/A-18, painted in a 1950s midnight blue scheme.

I saw this posted on the X Planes blog, which has been on a Soviet giants kick of late.  It's the back page of something called "Юный моделист-конструктор", which apparently translates as "Young Modeler-Builder", from 1962.
