^^ Beautiful shots!

AIM-9X?  :o Will these also make their way into RAAF inventory or will the Super Hornets get ASRAAM as well?
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

AIM-9X are for the Super Hornets only.  The classic Hornets and JSFs when they enter service use/will use the AIM-132.  The RAAF wanted minimum changes to the aircraft (from the USN) so as to ensure rapid introduction to service.  As such, about all that has changed are the markings.  Mind you, I am still sore about the fact that a CVN wasn't acquired...after all the USN operates theirs off CVNs doesn't it .

Great shots Greg!

Although, the 262 looks a bit odd to me. Maybe it's just me...

Might be that it is clean, in colour and missing the swastika on the tail.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Oh my...what a gorgeous selection of photographs from the Jubilee....as much as I love that shot of the Victors et al flying at us, the next one, showing off their beautiful rear ends.....   My all-time favourite paint scheme, the RAF colours of the day. Don't know if it's because I was young then, and just falling in love with aeroplanes and remember it so fondly, or, if it's the simple fact that camo, roundels, and colour could make anything look good !

Saw this attached to a news story about disaster relief in Japan.  It shows an H-60 lifting supplies from the USS Blue Ridge.

It's not one of the Centennial commemorative schemes, but it's distinctive nonetheless.

IIRC it's a SH-60F stripped of ASW gear and used as a VIP transport around US bases in Japan.  Those look like three stars (Vice Admiral) to the right of the cargo door.
