That looks like a formation from the 1966 Tiger Meet, based at RAF Leuchars, so it'd be a Belgian Air Force F-104G from 31 Smd at Kleine Brogel.

[Later] And that first pic with the T5 Lightning overflying the other stuff is definitely the '66 Tiger Meet at Leuchars too, I checked the arrangement of the ramp and hangars on Google Earth and it's an exact match.

Never knew it could carry a 104 ! Would  said 104 have had it's engine ?

Captain Canada

Looks like the engine is out, can't see the burner can. Also the back lifting straps don't seem taught, wonder if the rotors create lift under the wings ?

Well spotted  Therefore has the ground been photo-shopped out ?

Looking at that picture I can see a thinner wire? that is taught towards the rear of the wings and almost in line with the rear strop. It's almost as if the strop is there because they don't trust the wire.

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

Jury is still out for me. I see the smaller wires, but they look like the run down the ing and aren't really taught either ? There is also a tag line attached to the front wheel.

I wonder why they removed the engine but affixed that non-standard centreline pod?   To maintain balance?  Then why remove the engine?
