Am I blind?  The following is an overhead shot of Shiraz International Airport, in Iran.  The caption says "Airbus A300".  I can't see one anywhere.

hmmmm... maybe a stealth Airbus?

To my eye, the only Airbus I can see in that picture, is the shadow on the runway. I wonder if the caption should read "Taken from an Airbus A300"?

There is the tip of one wing in the picture as well as the shadow

No politics, but the Marines were nice enough to provide a Flickr set of images from yesterday's ops aboard the USS Kearsarge:

certainly interesting photos. Pity our Harriers are now gathering dust in a hanger at RAF Cottesmore.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Wow...great shots ! The shadows in the one pic look like an awesome new paint scheme. And the one pic with the Burke in the background almost looks like a hovering Kamov acting as plane guard !

Thanks for that !

There's a blurb and some photos on the MSNBC Photoblog about skill demonstrations associated with a graduation ceremony for members of the Saudi Special Forces, including this image:

What kind of helo is this?  Doesn't look like any that I'm familiar with.

Looks like a Sikorsky S-92 to me.

Now I recognize it.  I guess I'm not used to seeing one from that angle.  I couldn't find anything about the Saudi military flying S-92s, then I discovered they're owned by the Saudi Interior Ministry.

Something you don't see very often, Saudi Tonka flying over snowy hills (in the UK for maintenance, note the roundels).

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Nice one, Greg!

Spotted in MSNBC's This Week in Pictures - March 31 - April 7:

Caption reads "Staff Sgt. Quincy Northern, a U.S. Army medic from "Dustoff" team, C Company, 1-214 Aviation Regiment, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, walks toward his medevac helicopter as it casts a shadow on a hospital wall at Camp Dwyer in Helmand province, Afghanistan, April 5."

USN F-4 Phantom launching a target-drone variant of the Russian Kh-31/AS-17 Krypton!
The launch pylon also seems to be Russian.
