The Avenger appears to be fairly leaping off the runway!

Water injection in the J-47s and JATO bottles = local IFR conditions on the runway!

I watched a B-47 do that at Brize Norton once and nearly fell off my bike when the JATOs fired, I'd never seen anything like it before!

That's what I thought. Looks very un-natural
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Been a while since I (or anyone) posted anything here, so here's a handful from www.airfighters.com: None of these pics are mine and remain within the copyright of their originators.

Enjoy...

Taken by one of the 177th Fighter Wing's Public Affairs guys, at Warren Grove Bombing Range, of the 227th ASOS and 150th GSAB.  While it looks like they're taking part of Exercise Balikatan, the NJ Pine Barrens look nothing like the Philippines   I've worked with the photographer, he's a pretty classy guy, and had the decency (after I decided to nose dive off the pack of a 5t truck) to delete the photos he had of me being an actual casualty.

Mrs z had her Brothers here a while ago and we sat down and went through some of the shoe boxes of old photos.
Amongst the family pics and snaps of cars her Dad had fixed (he was a panel beater by trade) were these 3 snaps Labelled "Essendon 13th January 1962".
I love the apparent informality of the boarding procedures compared to today.  Essendon is currently home to executive, corporate and privately owned aircraft along with charter, freight and regional Victorian airlines as well as several flight training schools. The airport also provides warehousing facilities, and a home to the Victorian Air Ambulance, Royal Flying Doctor Service and the Victoria Police Air Wing.

This one is additionally marked "Comet en route to London".

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

For those who might be interested, Aircraft in Miniature makes a kit of those stairways in a couple of scales, along with quite a few other ground equipment stuff for dioramas
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

The days when the aircraft kit manufacturers supplied them with the model are long gone sadly. I still have some early Revell DC8-50 series kits which include the stairs AND the flight attendants too!
