Now that's a proper anniversary scheme! Bravo the RCAF!

The new 29 Sqn centenary scheme is quite nice:

And somehow I missed the 6 Sqn one from last year:

Smashing that, who'll be first out with a decal sheet for it?  ;D

Here's one of it with a BBMF Spitfire, pity they didn't fly with one in BoB camo though.

Be nice to see a Polish F-16 and Czech Gripen in the same colours, wonder if somebody will dare do a German Eurofighter in 1940 Me-109E scheme  ;D

Might not be a good idea to show up at RIAT this year in an 'Me109' Taifun........

I believe Basil Fawlty covered that prospect rather well...

Found this one on a thumb drive I have. Makes me think of Comrade Anatoly. I only saw the MI ANG Phantoms once, I had no idea they were flying them, and the base is only 45 minutes away. One was doing touch and goes ( overshoots, if you will ) and we pulled over to watch.

COMRADE! Is glorious example of decadent Western aero fighter design!

Thanks for mentioning a much-missed modeller whose name I saw on Facebook the other day.

A "Touch and go" requires the aircraft to actually make physical contact with the runway.
An "Overshoot" required the aircraft to not do that.
Now I say required as that maneuver is no longer referred to as an Overshoot.
This came about when a foreign (to this country) pilot was instructed to overshoot but carried on and landed, in a dangerous situation.
When  questioned the pilot stated that he did not understand the instruction as "the overshoot is that portion of graded ground beyond the end of the runway, where if you do not stop in time you overshoot onto".
The aviation authority in his country (just south of your country Captn) agreed and insisted that the phraseology be changed. This was duly processed through ICAO (the International Civil Aviation Organization) and the term that must now be used, internationally, is ............ Go Around.

Although I find the Typhoon one of the least attractive aircraft of all time, it certainly looks good in that BoB scheme....bring on a Rafale in Vichy colours .
