and Mike Herrill is doing test pulls on his 1/72nd Brabazon!
From a post on the Wings of Peace Yahoo group:

"...I also have 300 plus American and Western Airline decal sets (custom decals done by Lloyd Jones/Scalemaster) for the Convair 240 airliners.  A set sells for $5.00 and includes windows and cities for which planes were named.

I am currently completing the first test pulls of the old Bristol Brabazon transport.  It's the same size as the XC-99.

Cheers, Mike Herrill

The XC-99 is available from Gene Hooker (Classic Air Line Logos) too, I've got one in the stash.

I had wondered about Execuform kits, I've got a few of them but there's some here I wouldn't mind getting, Barkley-Grow for one, the SR Princess flying boat and the YB-60 conversion too.  But I notice he has the Hughes Flying Boat, would that be the 'Spruce Goose' ? and is it actually the old Heavy Kits kit ? I know the owner had the moulds for sale a while ago.

He does a PRINCESS in 1/72?

Oh YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSssss! That's worth $65 of my money for sure, even if it needs a fork lift truck to get it through the front door.

If his 'Hughes Flying Boat' costs 3 times as much as the Princess it just has to be the Spruce Goose I guess.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Postage: $6-8 on small & twin kits; $12-$15 on large kits.

*Due to size, these kits require $25 postage.

Excess postage refunded. Your check or M.O. acceptable.

The Brabazon price has increased, however, as the only potential option is the announced (and no doubt well over $400.00)
AMonster kit, its still (IMHO) reasonable for the size.

I emailed Mike about the Hughes Flying Boat, it is the 'Spruce Goose' and it is 1/72 scale. So at US$185 it's very reasonable so I wouldn't expect the Princess to be as much.  This is definitely on my shopping list to go with my C-5 and 747's, all I need now is a 1/72 A380

Just arrived yesterday, set of eight engine nacelles and props for a 1/72 Spruce Goose from Anigrand, now to save the pennies for the kit here.  Incidently the prop diameters when measured with the 1/72 scale are 'eighteen feet' in diameter, these have to be some of the biggest props put on a piston engined aircraft.

I've got the Sanger vacuform of the Starship, which I think is a far superior kit, comes with white metal and clear vac.

Agreed 100%, a little beauty of a kit, and they do an Avanti as well, which just as weird looking and just as good a kit.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
