Interesting, however, you may want to raise the wing.
Otherwise you'd have a horrible water ingestion problem.

Funny enough at present I am looking at info on the Short Sunderland!
You know Greg you may not be to far of the mark - as the info I am reading says - that short used the Sunderland flying boat as its basis for designing the Short Stirling heavy bomber!
It says that Short they literally took the boat hull off and used the top fuselage for the Stirling + the Sunderlands wings!!

I have to agree with Joncarrfarrelly though about the water ingestion problem - especially with the low slung arrangement of the radiators!

Except that it isn't the power of the engines. It's the design of the wing, the spar positioning, carry through and the load bearing members of the fuselage.  Avro designed the bay of the original Manchester to carry two torpedoes, hence the long uninterupted bay which could accommodate larger and larger bombs.  The Halifax, like the Stirling, was designed to carry a specific load of the largest bomb available at the time (1937?), which I think were 1,000 pounders.  Both aircraft were too inflexible load wise and due to the design couldn't be altered easily.

I like the lines of the Halifax Bay (as you could name the Flying boat version).
There is the possibility of putting the engines on top of the wing rather than underslung. That would perhaps would fix the engine issue, radiators on top, but really I like as it is as well.

Now this is fodder for the Navalise it GB.. if only one had time
