Still can't make it out but 1/48 will do for me until the 1/72 one comes out
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

QuoteIIRC there are supposed to be 2 1/72 Thuds, I believe they are doing the D model (pictured) as well as the F model as well.....basically their 1/32 Thuds scaled down to 1/72, surprised they didn't do them in 1/48 as well, although you can still find the Monogram 1/48 Thuds in some places.
Oh yes!!! a Thud in 1/72 scale would be cool!!! Sea Hawk, too...
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Quoteups....in the movie are Tu-22M´s which are attacking the carrier... :blink:
Funny you should mention that. It seems fiction follows truth. About 6 or 6 years ago, I was reading my latest copy of PILOT maagazine, well in the news section there was a piece about the USS Kittyhawk being buzzed by a pair of Fencers who came in at sea level, pulled up and shot over the deck, again at low level. Nobody knew that the Fencers were there until they were flying over the ship. I remember thinking at the time that someone really dropped the ball as far as keeping an eye out was concerned.

IIRC there was a thread on ARC about this a while back....can't remember much about it though  :dum:

All I will say is that such an unnanounced approach on your long-time adversary is a damn good way of getting yourself shot down.

Never seen the movie, but I saw the scene one time... it's totally terrifying!

It was a Fencer and a Flanker when the Kittyhawk was in the Sea of Japan in October 2000. They launched an EA-6B 40 minutes after the incident by which time the Russians were back home gleefully emailing photos taken during the incident back to the KH.

My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever; I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put out every one:
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods:
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

Those Fencer pics are beautiful. Knowing how big the bugger is in 72nd she is going to be a seriously BIG lump of plastic in 48th...
