Why are they doing Repulse/Renown? Tamiya have just released a new Repulse kit. :banghead: Why don't they do some carriers, or cruisers, or something that hasn't been kitted before (or at least not in 1:700). Warspite is a prime example.

Because they are doing Repulse in 1/350th as well i think. Didn't think you would have minded a Renown coming out as she's the modernised Repluse that survived the war.

Hopefully Trumpeter might consider some of the British carriers in 1/700, Furious would be an interesting build although the Colossus class would be greatly appreciated for its post war service and variety.

OK who here is getting fed up that we seem to be seeing glimpses of the Trumpeter catalogue but the interesting 1/72nd scale sections for both Aircraft and Armour have failed as yet to appear on the radar !! :banghead:

But wait no longer!

Su-24, J-10 A and B!

Nothing new for us of the 1/72 crowd (apart from the Backfire), but maybe that means the kits announced last year will finally be released. Su-27UB, MiG-19, Be-6 (hoping for a -12!),....

Not sure if thia has cropped up before, but theyt have the Tu-22M2 Backfire B listed in the catalogue, but the test shot on IPMS Philipinnes appears to be the M3 Backfire C variant with Foxbat style intakes !!!.

BTW I hope they do the J-10B two seater in 1/72 as well as 1/48 scale.

Good catch!  And the best thing is, page 12 has 1/72 and page 14 as well!  :o So page 13 will probably have 1/72 stuff as well!

Fair enough on Renown. I just get annoyed that the only British ships that these companies seem to think are worth doing are those that are infamous for whatever reason. The Bismarck chasers (Hood, KGV, etc), Repulse, Prince of Wales - that's all we ever seem to get. :( Pretty much every major company has done these ships, but none of them (with the exception of a few carriers from Fujimi and Aoshima) seem to bother with anything else.

It is true that the only British ships that seem to be built are the ones that get sunk.  Thats also true for IJN ships, but most of their ships were sunk ;)

Just saw the US price of the Backfire B on Cybermodeler ($139.95 about £95)and it's out of my price range, I'll have to stick with my Esci and Italeri kits. http://www.cybermodeler.com/news/news081231a.shtml
