They released a 48th one to general apathy a few weeks back.  Most UK modellers distrust Trumpeter to get any British subject right.

I think the UK market is really just 'icing' for Trumpeter.  The bulk of their kits are aimed at China and the entire Pacific hemisphere ( including the Americas ) where Airfix is just a name you might hear in one of those quaint Top Gear episodes made in London, England.  A market of 2 billion+ versus 60 million.

So it doesn't really matter if they theoretically overlap with Airfix, or are slightly deficient in some area.

Plus given Airfix's tendency to drop kits of iconic aircraft from production ( Nimrod, TSR.2, Valiant, Sea Vixen etc... ) the UK scene should probably be appreciative of a second-source.

Noted, but that 'second source' is notorious for getting the shape of its UK aircraft kits wrong, which rather casts doubt on their ability to get all their other kits right.

High Planes do a perfectly adequate 1/72 Sea Vixen.  At the moment it has no decals but decals are easily available on EvilBay.

The Cyberhobby Sea Vixen is pretty decent and easy to build as long as you swap the underscale ejection seats and the nose cone with a less blunted version all of which are provided by Pavla

The most famous ship in history - apart from perhaps Noah's Ark - and they get it wrong?  I refer the honorable gentlemen to the statement I made earlier in the thread.

The model with the incorrect bow is not the Trumpeter kit but said to be an older 1:200 model, of which there were a couple.  There are no official shots of it yet other than the stern ones.

I know it's fun to bash not-Airfix but perhaps wait until the review copies are shipped...?

Really, you a actually want a 1/200 RMS Titanic ?  !!!!!!!

Their recent HMS Exeter in 1/350th has had glowing reviews and complements on its fit so some of their shipwright kit producers are doing a cracking job.

Pity we're stil waiting on the 1/700 HMS Belfast 1959 and the Type 23 Frigates as those are the actual ship kits I want to buy and build and will be getting multiples (There are 16 type 23s to go at and the Bellfast 59 will give assorted parts for post war builds and projects  )
