The Trumpeter 1959 post war modernised HMS Belfast in 1/700 scale is finally coming out, probably available in the new year but might be out by Xmas if we are really lucky.

Handy for a post war commonwealth cruiser with modernised features, and can be cross kitted with the Matchbox Tiger, the only downside is that i saw the plastic test shots for the 1943 & 1959 Belfast kits and the missing parts of the 59 version indicates the lattice masts are all Photoetch brass, as are the gun tubs for the Mk5 twin 40 mm bofors

Looks like Trumpeter is about to come out with a 1/350 scale never were H-class battleship model next year.  :o
This is perfect as it'll go right next to my USS Louisiana MONTANA class battleship model.

Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

It's very encouraging that manufacturers are now producing such kits. I have no interest in the battleship but, if they weren't so expensive, I'd jump at the chance to get their  1/350 Weser and, Peter Strasser aircraft carriers

Interesting. Someone's doing a new tool 1/72 Battle, can't remember who off the top of my head, but good to see these types get the attention they deserve in whatever scale

I have the old Airfix Battle.  This kit was one of the first models my Dad built for me when I was a nipper.
I can't decide whether to recreate that (OOB) build or whiff the crap out of it.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I've whiffed that old Airfix kit, but I'd like to build a real world one simply as a tribute to the brave crews who flew then in France in 1940.

AND 1/350 Scylla & Naiad!

May have to buy two Naiads & build one as HMS Ulysses on her final run (will mean having to go through the book, again, & work out all of the damage she took, though).

Which vessels? Are they the Leander ones? If so I will have to buy a couple as I love the look of that class.

The trouble is that kit companies ALWAYS do Belfast because she's available to crawl over, but the fact is that Belfast and Edinburgh were significantly larger than, and different to, both the Counties that preceeded them and the Colonies that came after, so of all the British triple-six-inch-gun cruisers, they are the least representative of the breed as a whole.
