Today when passing a charity shop I saw an Airfix 1/72nd scale Mustang in the window, so in I went, asked to look at it, and inside was a Yak jet fighter, one of their 1940's vintage ones.It had been near completed but badly. I gave them the 50 p and home it came to be cut open and be rebuilt as a single seat turbo prop helicopter escort plane, with several subtle enhancements/modifications

From the stash of a friend:

Hasegawa 1/72 F-15J  double kit 39th and 50th Anniversary

Can't possibly have enough Eagles. F-15s are a bit like Hunters that way, I guess.

Recently nabbed a huge lot of already built warships off of the 'bay.  They're interesting, designed for someone's own whiff setting!

They'll be put into the massive drydock called my work room, and to be glanced at over the passing years in the hopes that some day, I'll actually fix them up and make a conversion or two.  ;)

I'm attaching the pic so y'all can see what I grabbed.

From ebay: 2 x Airfix 1/350th Trafalgar class SSNs.

Bit of a cock-up, actually. Saw the auction, with three minutes to go, and thought they were a bargain so I'd snap them up as swap-fodder. Then, after I'd won them, I realised that the RRP in my head was the one for the gift set version with paint's glue etc... and these are the plain version which is considerably cheaper. They're not a rip-off mind, they're just not far off the RRP when postage is factored in. Ah well, live and learn: sometimes snapping at a short-time auction gets you a huge bargain, so there must be a price to pay......

Spooky - just (last 10 seconds) been looking at one of those on ebay. Can't be the same one 'cos it's got nearly two days to go....

Just picked up two 1/72 aircraft from a fellow modeler on a different forum; a Fujimi SH-2F Sea Sprite and an Italeri B-25H/J Mitchell.  Both look great but the decals have long since yellowed beyond repair.  Strange that the B-25 has RAISED panel lines....must be one of the older ones.  Try as I might I can't seem to find any copyrights on either of them but if I had to guess , both are from the 1980s if not earlier.  Anyone know if any aftermarket parts exist for the SH-2?

The B-25 is more like 1970s.  I did it in 1988.  There's another in the stash somewhere, along with a Revell boxing of the Hasegawa kit.

That's one heck of a bargain, how much was it originally?  Somewhere near the £80 mark I think.
