Rescued today from the local Post Office Depot were

From PR19_Kit

Airfix 1/72 Dassault Mirage IIIc which looks as if it should be in a museum as the box and instructions are that old !!!

Hehe, you have no IDEA how old that Mirage is!  ;D

I bought it when it was new, in the 60s sometime, as half of a pair. One was intended to be a reccie version, and somewhere I still have the Airmodel nose conversion, but it never happened, as you can see.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

PR19_Kit I thought it was late 60's or early 70's as I remember pouring over the catalogue at school or looking at what was on offer in the local Woolworth's, bagged kits were still available at the time as well. As for its purpose, I intend to build it as an Israeli aircraft using spare bits from an AML Mirage IIICJ/Reconnaissance kit I bought of eBay a while back.

Went over to my LMS today, with some more books, and also picked up my C-27 Spartan. Very nice kit indeed I must say, also came away with several sheets of styrene, some evergreen strip 2 sanding sticks and some glue, as a swap for the other books I took them.
Which is nice

ArmyofOne: I have a 1:48 Italeri Hokum if you want it? I cut the tail off, but it wouldn't take much to re-attach the parts (I'd even do it myself if you want).

Check your PMs AoO. :)

From ebay today, a pair of old (as in, really old - they're co-branded Hales, which I've never encountered before) Hasegawa kits - an EA-6B Prowler and an S-3A Viking. The Prowler may donate it's cockpit to my Hawker Vindicator, and if it works then the rest will become one of JP Viera's FA-6 fighters. No idea about the Viking - it may well end up being disposed of if inspiration fails to strike.

I *think* Hales were the first to bring Hasegawa kits into the country after the tie up Hasegawa had with Frog broke down.  I've seen a fair few kits with Hales on the box.

Yup they were. I think they were part of the BMW Model Shop at Wimbledon which was bringing a lot of Japanese stuff into the UK during the late 60's
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Ahh, I see - I've never really bought much Hasegawa stuff, and even less "vintage" Hasegawa. I've learned something! The kits look rather nice on the sprues, anyway. From an ebayer called "kit rescue", they were packed extremely well, though postage costs were a bit on the high side (I didn't notice until after winning the auction).

Second delivery today, a truly huge box from PR19 Kit's clearance frenzy, containing a brace of Airfix's finest (or not!) - a Mosquito NF and a Defiant.
